ROBOCOP (2014)

MGM and Sony Pictures

As a huge Robocop fan myself since being a kid it was a great honor and a really fun challenge to work on the designs for the Robocop remake film. Working with the production designer Martin Whist and the art-director Dave Scott was a fun creative collaboration where we were able to try a lot of different ideas for various designs, including the Robocop suit, ED209 robot, the robocop's bike, weapons and various props. Below are some of the designs that I had a chance to work on.

ED209

Like with the Robocop suit, with Ed209 my task was to design a sleeker more modern and aggressive looking version of the original design that would has less hardware exposed and more automotive like shapes of the armor plates. During the preliminary design stage Ed Natividad had created a concept that served as an inspiration to my early ED209 work. During the process the design evolved and has eventually become lower, sharper and wider with more aggressive stance. I did also two versions for the paintjob: the desert edition and more tactical urban black.
